Abstract

The social worker is a professional with multiple functions. The objective is to analyze the perception of the population about the functions and professional profile of the social worker. It is considered necessary to identify the reasons why the population comes to them and to detect through which organisms.
It is a research of quantitative approach, exploratory and descriptive scope and cross-sectional design.
Population study carried out in the province of Cádiz, using a questionnaire as an instrument for data collection. The sample is 600 participants.
42% of respondents report not knowing what the social worker’s functions are. 46.5% have demanded their services, being the most requested help, advice and pension management. Health centers and town halls are the main gateway.
In conclusion, it should be noted that there is ignorance of the functions of the Social Work professional in the population studied.
