Abstract

The objective of this study is to deepen the professional role of social work in childparent violence and the applicability of their knowledge to this problem. Through a bibliographic review, the relevance of social factors in their origin and the importance of family dynamics that affect the phenomenon are exposed. Various explanatory approaches and the solutions provided by the knowledge generated by Social Work are presented. The functions that can be carried out by social workers in processes such as prevention, diagnosis and intervention are also indicated. In the conclusions, the evidence found on the pertinence of this type of professionals to work on child-parent violence and the value of their contribution to the understanding and approach of the phenomenon are compiled.
