Knowledge and recognition of social work in gerontological practice

Abstract

The present report aims to make known the work done, thanks to the obtaining of a Social Worker temporary job position, subsidized by the program of local corporations, during the second semester of the year 2016, at the Municipal Nursing Home of Castro-Urdiales, the ‘Santo Hospital Civil’. This is a pioneering experience in that center, which had never counted with a Social worker among its employees. It is for the interesting of its implementation and for the defense of the need for the Social work in the field of the Gerontology, by what this article is written.
