The data voluntarily disseminated by users in their social networks constitute a much broader and more complete source of information than that which a job interview would offer, in recent times, new techniques have emerged aimed at complementing the classic personnel selection processes, with a new phase of pre-selection of candidates based exclusively on the information that can be obtained from them from searches on the Internet. This paper assesses the legality of these practices, emphasizing the protection of the right to privacy and the protection of personal data of job applicants.
