Abstract

A contribution to the knoledge of endemic taxa from Sicily by a morphobyometric study of the pollen.

The pollen grains of eight endemic taxa have been characterized by a byometric and ultrastructural study with light, scanning electron and trasmission electron microscopy. They are: Trifolium fragiferum L. ssp. bonannii (C. Presl) Soja?k, Laserpitium garganicum (Ten.) Bertol. ssp. sicuhim (Sprengel) Pign., Senecio ambiguus(Biv.) DC., Senecio aethnensis Jan ex DC. (endemic taxa to Sicily), Cerastiurn tornentosum L., Polygala preslii Sprengel, Pitnpinella anisoides Briganti, Senecio lycoptfolius Desf. ex Poiret (endemic taxa to Central- Southern Italy and Sicily).
