A Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) study of leaf surface, capsule stomata, peristometeeth and spores of Orthotrichum cupulatum var. sardagnanumand O.cupulatum var. baldaccii is made. On this ground, we propose a new status for the last taxon: Orthotrichum cupulatum subsp. baldaccii.
