A good knowledge of the distribution of pteridophytes in CW Spain (Zamora, Salamanca and Cáceres provinces), is the base on we have applied four analyses that let us evaluate the phytogeographical importance of pteridophytes in this area: m/t index, index of similarity with the adjacent regions, index of similarity between chorological divisions, and historical analysis. Finally, we have selected some taxa which have considered as biogeographical indicators.
