Onobrychis caput-galli (L.) Lam., a new Fabaceae for the Portuguese flora

Résumé

In 2021, the author observed and collected Onobrychis caput-galli (L.) Lam., a species of Fabacee previously unknown to the Portuguese vascular flora, according to the Checklist of Portuguese Flora (Sequeira et al., 2011). The species was found in Algarve, in a very restricted area, with several sites of occurrence, most of which sharing similar habitat conditions. All evidence suggests that the species is native in Portugal and should be added to Portuguese vascular flora.
