Abstract

The author believes that landscapes, made of both spirit and substance, are results of a combined project in which material ambitions, social references and intellectual considerations of the human group that uses that space are an integral part. Lanscapes and gardens, that slow two different levels of humanisation of nature, are also part of the project. Through garden analysis, the author unravels the intellectual and material functions of that particular human group and the owner´  s desire of family intimacy and sociability.
