Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the marginalia present on the Majorcan gothic architectures erected between the end of the 14th century and the beginning of the 16th. In this context we understand the marginalia to be a particular typology of architectural sculpture. Therefore, the concept of marginalia is defined and determined in this article, as well as the precise spaces that they occupy in the frame of the civil and religious buildings. Moreover, the iconographic repertoires are systematized and answers are sought to their possible meanings, should there be any.
