Abstract

This article is configurated as a recapitulation and reflection about
several opinions and critical perspectives dedicated to Surrealism by Art historians and writers. Prom first Benjamin's text to Hamilton and
Arnason's handbooks, Subrealism is going to be presented paying special attention to its objects, artistic positions and images deciphering. Historians' points of view change at the same time Universal History does, and so Surrealism was first seen as poetical movement. Now, novel facets, such as photography, are discovered in its creative world, pointing to new ways of formulating History through archaeological searching of aesthetic categories.
