Abstract

On Roman Church History, Inmaculate Conception of Virgin Mary has been a theologic subject surrounded of debates, discussion and controversy. This article studies the last moment on the secular evolution of this Marian devotion, such was its dogmatic definition and proclamation by Pope Pío IX, in 1854, during a spectacular Pontifical Mass celebrated in Saint Peter of Vadean plenty of liturgical formalities, sumptuous scenography and magnificent theatricality.
