Abstract

Polo’s doctrine about death states that it is due to mental limit. The objective of this work is to clarify this judgment by exposing the notion of one’s own body as an enigmatic fact, which beats below the mental limit; and for this reason it may be missing: its lack is death. Personal freedom does not sufficiently inform the body, but takes it for granted and because the body itself thus escapes its perfect domain, it can be expropriated from the person. The lack of one’s own body is death. Without their own body, the human person leaves the world and leaves history.
