Abstract

The article analyses the various cases of several authors who attribute one or more of the following statements to Emmanuel Levinas: the Palestinian is not the Other, responsibility does not apply to the Palestinian or applies less than to the Israeli, the Palestinian is «faceless». It will be shown that these statements are not contentious or erroneous interpretation, but rather a «myth», that is, a fiction or false narrative, due to the politicization of Levinas’ thought by certain intellectuals. The origin, genesis, dissemination, content, variations and motives of this «myth» are the focal points of the research.
