Nietzsche’s Reading of Notes from the Underground

The aim of the following article is to examine Nietzsche’s reading of the second part of L’esprit souterrain, i.e. the French adaptation of Dostoevsky’s novel Notes from the Underground. My purpose is to show the whole influence this reading had on Nietzsche’s On the Genealogy of Morals and on his understanding of the phenomenon of resentment.
