In a world saturated with ephemeral images and social media, what happens when university students are given creative freedom in photography? This article examines 53 projects emerging from the course "Theory and Technique of Photography" (L1,L3 and L5, Universitat de València, 2025–26), where self-referentiality surfaces as a tool for personal creation, intimate knowledge, and identity recognition. From family memories digitally created to territorial belonging in the face of migration, through hyperconnected solitudes and ephemeral festive rituals, students weave embodied narratives that respond to contemporary post-photography. Camera decisions alongside an intensive use of digital post-production construct a generational style resilient against visual saturation. The qualitative analysis of six cases reveals how technical choices become a "semantic gesture" that turns the classroom into a living laboratory: photography not only documents, but forges situated subjectivities, inviting a rethinking of visual pedagogy in times of post-truth.
