Abstract

Until a specialised journal of theory, criticism and research is created, there is no profession in the field. Today, reflection and theorisation on design exists, in accordance with the deficiency stated by G. Bonsiepe (1982). But it remains to internalise the idea of reinforcing the theoretical-critical character, academic-scientific dissemination and development in the methodology of design processes, as indispensable instruments to advance development and innovation in this field. Excellence in professional and research postgraduate courses for the training of professionals, teachers and researchers of the highest level is still to be achieved.
