The human being is dual because he is composed of essence and the act of personal being, but the essence depends on the act of personal being because in every duality there is a superior member. This duality implies the existence of a double growth, the essential and the personal. The first is the essentialism that consists in the development of the received nature, specifically, in the development of the intelligence and will. The intelligence and will are passive powers which mean that they need to be activated, not by themselves, but by a habit active in act. This habit is innate, so that everyone has it by being a person, it is the synderesis. This anthropologic conception of the person implies that education is considered as an aid to the learner to improve as a person. There is detail of what this help consists of so as to conclude as to the convenience of educating while bearing in mind the synderesis. On the one hand, because education is to help growth and therefore to improve the intelligence and will and, on the other hand, because the growth of these two powers depends on the degree of activation of the synderesis.
