Abstract

This paper analyzes the implementation of a teaching model based on the flipped classroom and project-based learning in the field of Occupational Risk Prevention. Using a longitudinal design (2018–2026), the study examines its impact on academic performance, competence acquisition, and student perception.

The model integrates three main components —a Basic Manual, the “Efficient Student Handbook” (Prontuario), and a digitally structured learning environment supported by Blackboard Ultra—, configured as a hybrid system aimed at professionalization.

The results show a progressive improvement in academic performance following the consolidation of the methodological approach, although differences remain depending on students’ level of engagement. In addition, the methodology receives a positive evaluation and contributes to the development of applied competencies.

Its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and European quality standards reinforces its relevance in higher education. Overall, the study suggests its effectiveness and its potential transferability to other legal and social science degrees.
