Translation, Globalization, Medias, Cosmopolitanism, IdentitiesAbstract
Globalization and new technologies entail the approximation and hybridization of cultures and identities. Medias have infrastructures which allow information to travel fast across the world and, despite all the advantages coming with this fact, this also implies the movement of certain ideologies belonging to the ones in the power. It is of crucial importance to understand how medias manipulate texts while the translation process takes places, creating in this way a distorted view of reality. By doing so, the translator will be able to identify power relations in communication exchanges and position himself to translate ethically as far as possible.
