Hegel, Kant, and the Problem of Antinomies

For Kant, antinomy exhibits the necessary conflict of reason with itself, inasmuch as antinomy does not grant the distinction between phenomena and things in themselves. There are only four such antinomies, as many as there are classes of categories, in each of which, however, they refer to the absolute completeness of the series of the conditions for a given conditioned. Hegel’s critique does not continue the transcendental path of Kantian argumentation. Instead, he opens a new way of thought by introducing a dynamic consideration of the contradictions of reason, in which the flow of thinking gives place to becoming in the world.
