This article examines the biography of Claudio Guillén through his experiences in Spain, Europe, and America in the second half of the 20th century and his vision of the Western world. To this end, we present several previously unpublished letters, or excerpts from them, that Claudio Guillén sent during his few trips to Spain during the dictatorship, to his teacher Vicente Llorens, to his father, Jorge Guillén, and to his family (Jorge and Teresa Guillén and Stephen Gilman). Finally, we present the project Towards a European Library, developed by Guillén, which was one of his endeavors in his final years.
