Abstract

Francesca Llopis gives a performance at La Ricarda which she captures with a video camera and a photographic camera. Both of them seek to immortalize the intangibility of a house that represents a jewel of the modern Catalan architecture under the threat of the expansion of El Prat airport. The work not only shows the images of the house through the artist’s eyes but also seeks to convey the importance of all the experiences that happened in the house over the years. Her photography becomes a keystone for the review of an element of historical architecture which keeps collective memory alive and warns about the need of taking action to prevent its loss.
