Engaging the Bricolage
Bits and Pieces of Rigour in Critical Qualitative Research

This article explores the notion of the bricoleur within qualitative research, presenting it as an interdisciplinary and multi-methodological strategy that integrates diverse theoretical and philosophical perspectives. The author argues that the bricoleur is an essential tool to grasp the complexity of contemporary reality, while enabling rigorous forms of knowledge production that go beyond the constraints of traditional disciplinary frameworks. Finally, the article examines ways of fostering this boundary work, aiming to strengthen a more sophisticated and critical intellectual rigor within academia.
