Abstract

This article describes a needs assessment that guides the proposals for the implementation of the gender approach in the work with addictions of the Andalusian Association Proyecto Hombre.
It is part of a process of Research-Action-Participatory that is carried out in the entity aimed at increasing awareness of the usefulness of the comprehensive gender perspective in the professional group and provide them with specific resources for analysis and intervention.
113 professionals participated in the study through a questionnaire designed and subsequently analysed by a group of 9 professionals of the organisation from different Andalusian provinces and the researcher. Data is obtained on their training as professionals in the field of gender and violence in connection with addictions work, as well as their perceptions and actual implementation in their interventions. The needs identified are very useful for subsequent innovative proposals to be framed in a strategy based on knowledge of reality.
