The article is a bibliographic review about the social work in case and types of incestuous relationships which can occur in the professional intervention. The perspective analysis aims at the fulfillment of a differential diagnosis in terms of detection and screening techniques that allow to address each situation, as well as the lines of treatment and the differentiated social risk depending on the typology. The study incorporates the origin, types, consequences and ways to prevent or intervene when a situation of incest has happened. In addition, the project explores the debate that certain types of incest generate at present and the taboo limits in cases of mutual consent between adults. It also underscores the social problems and the processes that are related to the topic of incest, adoptions and syndrome of Genetic Sexual Attraction.
