"Research study on the needs of cancer patients in all municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants in the province of Málaga"

Abstract

The investigation that concerns us carries out the detection and analysis of demands and needs that people affected by cancer and their families have in the towns of less than 20 thousand inhabitants, of Malaga, and their coverage. The goal we intend to reach is, Improve and Adapt the existing services and resources for people suffering from this disease and residing in these municipalities.
The research, through action research tools and techniques, includes two objects of study, patients and health professionals (doctors and nurses) and social (social workers). 151 surveys and discussion groups have been carried out with both groups.
We have made a map of needs and collected the opinions of professionals and patients, recognize the deficiencies and difficulties they face, in the process of diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
