Abstract

The Health Education Project: “Risks on the Internet: addiction and cyberbullying” takes place within the framework of the service portfolio of the Subdirectorate for Promotion, Prevention and Health Education of the Assistance Management of Primary Care of the Service of Health of Madrid.
The project is aimed at informing, raising awareness and developing proper habits and behaviours when using New Technologies on the part of the minors. Understanding that prevention and education are the main resources to reduce social and health problems associated with the misuse of ICT, and at a lower cost than intervention, we must focus our efforts on informing the minors about the risks associated with the use of ICT, to develop a socially responsible citizenship.
The project is developed with a social intervention in the education centres, giving educational talks about the risks of the Internet. Initially, the target population are the students of the first grade of ESO, but the social reality of early access to new technologies and social networks on the part of our minors makes the project flexible to reach primary education students.
