The intervention of the social worker in the family group aims to bring about changes in the family structure to improve its members living conditions. This involves encouraging the acquisition of some basic skills so that they can meet their needs and solve the conflicts that arise throughout each stage of the life cycle. The objective of this article is to present a practical experience focused on the reduction of risk factors in families with children under 0-12 who are negligent in satisfying the physical, educational and emotional needs of their children, failing to carry out their protection duties towards them. Work has been done in a group with families that presented some deficiencies in the domestic organization, educational competences, decision making, personal development, search for support and community integration. The scene where the intervention has been carried out is an exact replica of a family home with its different spaces: kitchen, laundry room, living room, bathroom and bedrooms, located in municipal facilities. With this initiative, the number of families assisted within Family Treatment Programs, whose work team is the precursor to the Child Protection system, has been reduced.
