Abstract

The objective of this article focuses on exposing and assessing different socio-educative proposals to engage and empower youth people, concretely adolescents, about gender violence.
Starting with the contextualization of development cycle and gender identity development, it addresses different risk and protective factors related to macho violence. Considering Social Work and the social workers’ intervention, throughout this article diverse socio-educative proposals are presented to develop them with youth people.
All these initiatives, within the framework of formal and non-formal education, are aimed to promote a critical view towards stereotypes and gender roles, as well as personal and social skills development which may help them to identify and fight against potential gender violence situations within their relationships.
