The social imaginary of physical activity among university students

The constant extension of physical activity (PA) through sport or physical exercise in social life, which has led to the social sciences being sampled in the last decades for participating in this phenomenon in the social, cultural and economic dimensions. Likewise, in diverse investigations have been show multiple benefits have by the practice of PA in men and women. In relation, this point and considering the gender perspective, it is necessary to emphasize that the factors that predict the practice of PA are strongly influence by gender. The objective of the present investigation is to know that the university students have regarding the practice of the PA. The study was carry out with the participation of 15 students of the second semester of the social work career. The results show that young women have a perception of the physical activity imaginary related to physical (physical) aspects; in addition, an individual imaginary was form in relation to the movement that makes people develop activity of everyday life such as cleaning, for example. They also report a barrier that prevents them from doing any kind of physical activity.
