A longitudinal study to assess the current structure of sporting motives and self-regulation competencies.

Introdução: O apoio eficaz a jovens atletas talentosos caracteriza-se principalmente pela identificação, retenção e desenvolvimento otimizado desses talentos. O sucesso deve ser medido longitudinalmente para demonstrar a sua sustentabilidade. Isto realça o impacto considerável de uma estrutura escolar robusta no desempenho atlético, particularmente no âmbito das Escolas de Desporto de Elite (EEE). Objectivo: O objectivo deste estudo é examinar o grau de desenvolvimento de competências e analisar se as motivações se desenvolvem de diferentes formas. Metodologia: Foram entrevistados 15 atletas em dois momentos distintos do seu percurso educativo: no momento t1, enquanto ainda frequentavam o ensino básico, e no momento t2, quando eram alunos de uma EEE. O SSIK-3 foi utilizado para registar as competências de autorregulação e o OMT para registar as motivações implícitas. Resultados: É importante realçar que os itens relacionados com o stress apresentaram um aumento após a entrada no programa EdE (média t1 = 2,14, média t2 = 2,33, p = 0,396), enquanto a autorregulação (p = 0,070, r = 0,48) e o acesso diminuíram (p = 0,076, r = 0,47). Quando se consideram as correlações entre as escalas relacionadas com o stress e as de competência, observa-se uma forte correlação negativa com o stress, particularmente nas áreas do comportamento volitivo (rt1 = -0,638, p < 0,005) e da aproximação (rt1 = -0,834, p < 0,001). Conclusões: Simultaneamente, a motivação para a conexão aumentou, o que se explica pelos resultados que indicam que os atletas procuram sistemas de apoio para reduzir o stress. O conceito de apoio DUAL2E, no qual este artigo se baseia, aborda estas necessidades e procura estabelecer sistemas de apoio a longo prazo.
