Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Indexing

Analecta Malacitana (ISSN 0211-934X; e-ISSN 2794-0993), Journal of the Philology Section of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Málaga, publishes scientific works related to the field of Philology. It is aimed at specialists and researchers in this area, as well as a wider educated audience. It was founded in 1978 and since 2022 it has been an annual digital publication with the possibility of special issues with open dissemination (revistas.uma.es). The acceptance of received originals is subject to anonymous peer review entrusted to two external experts.

It is indexed in the following Citation Databases, Specialized Databases, and Repertoires: PIO, LLBA, APH, MLA, Ulrich’s, Sumaris CBUC, ISOC (CINDOC-CSIC), Regesta Imperii, Dialnet, Instituto Cervantes, Cabell’s Directory. The Bulletin of Spanish Studies (University of Glasgow) reviews its content in the "Review of Miscellanies" section.

Its editorial quality and impact index have been historically recognized in RĔSH (Revistas españolas de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas-CSIC 1999-2008: 12 CNEAI, 14 ANECA, Expert Opinion 1.35, Impact 2004-2008: 0.07), In-Rech (position 17/100, 2nd quartile, 2008-2012), DICE 2013 (Diffusion and Editorial Quality of Spanish Humanities and Social and Legal Sciences Journals-CSIC), ANEP 2013 (National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective-Category C), Google Scholar Metrics (position 8/12, H Index 2, Median H 3, 2008-2012; position 25/38, H Index 2, Median H 2, 2010-2014; position 29/56, H Index 2, Median H 3, 2011-2015); Latindex v1.0 2002-2017 (30/33) and Cahrus+ 2018 (Category D).

Its electronic version (ISSN 1697-4239; www.anmal.uma.es) was closed in 2019. During its activity, it was especially reviewed in the Databases Dialnet, ISOC, Dulcinea, Editorial Academia del Hispanismo, as well as in the InterClassica portal (University of Murcia). The SJIF Journals Master List Database (Scientific Journal Impact Factor-Morocco) rated its impact as 3.768 (2012). It met 19/38 characteristics in Latindex.

Currently, it is indexed in Latindex v2.0 2018-2024 (35/38) and CIRC 2024 (Integrated Classification of Scientific Journals-Category D) and its level of dissemination is also recorded in MIAR 2021 (6.5) / 2024 (c0+m2+e1+x4), Dialnet Metrics 2023 (C3), JUFO Portal Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (2012-2024: Level 1) and The Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers-Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (2007-2024: Level 1).

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Analecta Malacitana maintains an anti-plagiarism policy that ensures all published works are original, through the professional application of Crossref Similarity Check services from Ithenticate to scan all submissions.

We use this service for all documents that have passed the editorial classification process and are subject to blind peer review.

The journal reserves the right to reject articles with an inappropriate similarity percentage.

We also have specific plagiarism detection tools such as Unicheck, a free-access platform that oversees originality and controls plagiarism.

Digital Preservation policies

All of our electronic content (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored on several sources. Content on one server is online and accessible to the readers. The copy of the same content is kept as a backup on as the OJS software makes weekly copies through LOCKSS and CLOCKS archiving systems. DOIs of the articles also ensure the durability of access through Crossref. The content of the journal is also available in open access in different databases such as REBID and DIALNET, which guarantees the preservation of content by more than one database.
