Abstract

In this note we shall study the last book by Foster and McChesney. Firstly, we need to consider the main thesis of the Monthly Review group: the chronic stagnation in monopoly capitalism. Secondly, we’ll examine Foster’s concept of monopoly-finance capitalism, and its application to the present crisis. Finally, we shall examine whether the argument about the endless crisis is accurate or, on the other hand, this crisis can lead to new institutions inside the system, assuring the accumulation of capital.
