Abstract

Tadeo Reichstein was awarded the prize Nobel in 1950 for the isolation of cortisone, in addition to having synthesized vitamin C by means of a process that bears his name. Given the significance of both discoveries a good part of his other contributions to science have been hidden in the tiny biographies.
