Author Guidelines

Authors wishing to contribute to the journal must register as authors on the journal’s website before submitting a paper. The journal primarily accepts research papers and evidence-based accounts, such as essays and literature reviews. In all cases, the following guidelines must be followed: a minimum of 4,000 words and a maximum of 6,000 words (including abstract, keywords and references), using the IMRyD format (introduction, methodology, results and discussion).

Scope of the papers

1. Papers must be original and must deal with professional placements, curricular and extracurricular external placements. They must not deal with placements carried out in the classrooms of the training centres where the student is studying.

2. In the metadata, the title must be between 10 and 15 words in the three languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese). The first title must be in the language in which the main text of the article is written.

3. A summary (abstract) of no more than 100 words must be included, written in the three languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese), following the IMRD format (Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion).

4. Five descriptors/keywords must be included, written in the three languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese), using the UNESCO Thesaurus

5. The article must be written in such a way as to allow for a blind peer review; that is, any information identifying the authors must be avoided.

6. The style requirements for the original manuscripts are:

- Format: Word using the template. The file name must include the abstract title of the work.

- Use of the template is mandatory

- Images and graphic files must be integrated into the text and numbered consecutively. To ensure good quality, they must be attached to the text in separate files in JPEG or PNG format. No more than a total of 5 images, figures, graphs, tables, etc. will be accepted.

7. Footnotes should be avoided where possible.

8. References must be as up-to-date as possible and consist of primary citations, i.e. taken directly from the original documents. It is recommended that 50% of references be from prestigious national and international journals indexed in Web of Science (WOS), Scopus, Dialnet, REDIB and others in specific fields (medicine, engineering, etc.). Bibliographic references must be arranged alphabetically in accordance with the APA 7 (American Psychological Association) citation guidelines. A summary is provided at the top of this page, and further information is available at http://www.apastyle.org/.

9. It is recommended to avoid excessive use of self-citations and citations from articles in the Prácticum journal. Articles submitted for publication in the Prácticum journal must contain at least 30 bibliographic references. All references must include the DOI or, failing that, the journal’s webpage address rather than database or academic portal addresses, always shortening the URL using URL-shortening tools.

10. Presentation of the animation on APA 7 at APA7 Presentation

11. The type of work carried out by each author (e.g. literature review and documentation, writing, methodology, data analysis, data collection, research design...) must be indicated using an abbreviation; this will be anonymous in the initial submission.

12. A note at the end of the paper should include the source of funding, where applicable, and any other information such as an open-access repository for the data, etc.

Use of generative artificial intelligence (AI)

A set of simple guidelines agreed upon by the journal editorial community is proposed.

- AI cannot be listed as an author.

- Authors must declare the use of AI and this must appear in the published PDF, specifying which model was used, its purpose and the date.

- It is not necessary to declare the use of AI solely for text correction (improving readability or grammar), provided that the human author takes responsibility for the final content.

- Reviewers may not use AI in the evaluation of manuscripts (to protect intellectual property rights).

- Generally speaking, the inclusion of AI-generated images in publications is not permitted; however, there may be justified exceptions, in which case the purpose of use, the model and the date must be specified. Conversely, such images may be used to accompany the article in the journal as an infographic.

Thesaurus

We recommend that publications and their keywords use terms from scientific thesauri such as: ERIC-Thesaurus (http://eric.ed.gov/), UNESCO (http://databases.unesco.org/thessp/).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The work has not previously been published or submitted for consideration to any other journal (or an explanation needs to be provided in the Comments to Editor)
  • The text will be single-spaced; font size 12 dots; italics will be used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures and tables will be placed in the appropriate parts of the text, rather than at the end.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format with the template indicated below, point 6., but without the names of the authors for the sake of anonymity.
  • The work of shared authorship does not exceed four authors and is indicated in notes at the end of the article and once the participation of each author in said work has been approved.
  • All papers, especially research papers, are encouraged to provide evidence of the data used in the analyses that can be added as supplementary files.
  • The text will comply with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements summarized in the Author's Guidelines, which can be found in About the Journal.
  • When sending a work to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensure an anonymous evaluation must be followed.
  • Use of generative artificial intelligence (AI): - AI cannot be listed as an author. - Authors must declare the use of AI, and this must appear in the published PDF, detailing which model was used, what it was used for, and the date. - It is not necessary to declare the use of AI solely for text correction (improving readability or grammar), provided that the human author takes responsibility for the final content. - Reviewers may not use AI in the evaluation of manuscripts (to protect intellectual property rights). - In general terms, the inclusion of AI-generated images in publications is not permitted; however, there may be some cases where this is justified, in which case the purpose for which it has been used, the model and the date must be indicated. However, it can be used to accompany the article in the magazine as an infographic.
  • FOLLOWS APA 7 STANDARDS
