The aim of this paper is to analyse Kierkegaard’s early theory of desire. This theory is developed in “The Inmediate Stages of the Erotic” (Either / Or. Part I) by pseudonym author A. The paper states the conceptual place of Cherubino (first stage), Papageno (second stage) and Don Juan (third stage) in A ?s exposition of the esthetic way of life (i.) and provi-des a reconstruction of the rise of the desire (ii.).
