Didactic Resources for the Study of Color in Greek: A Practical and Visual Approach

The object of study in this work is to approach a passage of Herodotus’ Histories along with 2nd year Bachillerato students, in order for them to learn a chosen lexicon about colours and capture it in Pantone style postcards. The proposed exercises are planned to be carried out in five sessions using the following sequencing: First, pupils must read an ancient Greek text, along with its translation, so they can next get through several etymological exercises about basic vocabulary and the tonalities mentioned in the text. Finally, they would create their own resource of colour postcards and go through a final evaluation process where they will reflect their newly acquired knowledge. Furthermore, this proposal contemplates functional diversity in the classroom, especially focused on colour-blind pupils, and the transference potential of the chosen Herodotean text.
