Abstract

Death is the final experience of life and, possibly, the only absolute certainty that the human being has about his own existence. It stars in philosophical reflections of all cultures, myths of
all periods and artistic representations of all styles. The mystery that the concept of death carries with it has been a constant source of inspiration in the literary creations of all time, from Plato's Phaedrus to Murakami's Tokyo blues, going through constant Love beyond death of Quevedo and delighting in romanticism, where death is offered an authentic homage as a theme.
