Abstract

This 2015 that ends, the Princess of Asturias Award for Scientific and Technical Research was awarded to researchers Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Doudna with the following arguments: 'The research of Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Doudna represents a biotechnological revolution, having developed a genomic editing technology that allows rewriting the genome and correcting defective genes with an unprecedented level of precision and very economically.
