Abstract

Invited to contribute to this issue celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Encounters in Biology’, I will try to give some insights about the Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM), which is now 50 years old and of which I have been a member for 40 years, as well as a former president (2001-2008). I believe that the SEBBM, with its extensive history, can inspire reflections of possible utility in the current crisis.
