Abstract

If we could use divination or premonitory arts to take a peek at the future of Environmental Microbiology, we would find a plethora of technical and conceptual developments that open new perspectives to research in this field. Guessing is speculating and, in some cases, the aspects discussed below may seem speculative, although I believe they are not without a scientific basis.
