Abstract

It is attributed to Napoleon the occurrence that music is the most pleasant of noises. Without intending to argue with such an illustrious character, one might ask, what is noise? If one consults a dictionary, various entries will be found. I transfer here, the one that best fits our semiotic purposes: noise is any interference that affects a communication process
