Abstract

Imagine a tumor: everything begins with specific events in a healthy cell that is part of a tissue. This cell will develop a series of capabilities that constitute the so-called tumor phenotype: a) proliferation in the absence of growth signals, b) insensitivity to proliferation stop signals, c) escape from apoptosis, d) unlimited replication capacity, e) continuous activation of angiogenesis and f) tissue invasion and metastasis
