Abstract

According to Nobel Laureate Peter Medawar, a virus is nothing more than a piece of nucleic acid surrounded by bad news. Viruses are not cells, they are strict endoparasites and, moreover, from a genetic point of view, they do not have metabolism. They physiologically depend on the living cell. Therefore, many do not consider them living beings.
