Abstract

The process of folliculogenesis is the result of the interaction between all the cellular components that make up the follicle, and it involves a multitude of factors produced either by the oocyte, the granulosa cells (GC), or the theca cells (TC), at different times and under the influence of various autocrine, paracrine, or endocrine factors (Table I).
