Abstract

Cryopreservation, which we describe below, can be advantageously applied to the conservation of wild or cultivated plant species and varieties as an alternative to traditional germplasm collections and banks (seed banks, field collections). Plant cryopreservation is a process that involves the preparation, maintenance, and long-term preservation of plant material under ultra-low temperature conditions of -196 ºC, obtained through liquid nitrogen (NL)
