Abstract

We live in a time when the successes of Molecular Biology are news. Dolly the sheep could well compete in popularity with David Bisbal, and it is rare for a newscast not to inform/misinform us about the discovery of a gene that will allow us to cure some unknown disease. The media have contributed to spreading a false expectation of the benefits of modern science.
