Abstract

Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique widely used to alleviate certain symptoms associated with many diseases, and it consists of the insertion of thin needles into the skin at certain anatomical points of the body called ‘acupuncture points’ (the name of acupuncture derives from the Latin words acus, needle, and pungue, penetrate).
