Abstract

What happens in the brain while we perceive, move, remember, or simply think? Which brain regions are involved in these or other processes? These and other similar questions could only be answered until recently through responses based on indirect evidence, obtained mainly from the study of the structure of fixed brains or through records of nervous activity in animals, under controlled conditions.
